Brandon’s hometown of Fort Payne, AL was recently featured on NPR’s All Things Considered. The Sock Capital of the World (or “capitol” depending on if you saw the misprinted sign in Fort Payne) is now the former Sock Capital of the World, as it has been deeply affected by CAFTA (Central America Free Trade Agreement) that imports cheaper socks (and other similar articles) from Central America. Supposedly a tariff will be reinstated on imports in December, but who knows how all that will turn out. You can check out the link for the printed story, and/or the audio.
