For a boy who loves Lightning McQueen and Cars, we were excited to find this today for $1.50.

We’re not really sure what it’s supposed to be, but it apparently goes around one’s waist and it appears there used to be shoulder straps. Our guess is it’s supposed to be a costume of some sort. Whatever it is, it is pretty cool. KACHOWWWW!!!!!

Here’s a couple of short videos of a little boy having some fun with his cars and “people.” The first video is slightly longer.
Disclaimer: the laundry waiting to be folded was not supposed to be in the video, but the videographer accidentally got it anyway.

Here are a few snapshots of what’s been going on the past few weeks. We got a visit from an old friend, and a visit from family.

I think this is Constitution Hall, perhaps where they wrote the Constitution (I was at work)…but somewhere in here a little boy threw a car over a ‘do not cross’ rope.

Cheryl’s friend Jessica flew up from Alabama for a fun visit.

Showing off a new tricycle, thanks to Nana and Pops.

Thanks to Nana and Pops for all their help last week.

Here are some pictures of the inside when the place was fixed up for some guests this past weekend.

FYI: notice the Lightning McQueen galoshes, and the mystery man on the right.

Sorry this one is sideways but I had problems trying to get it rotated and saved.

These are chairs that we bought used that we repainted and recovered. They were beige (?) and had the plaid pattern on the left, and we painted them black and recovered them with the black and white pattern on the right.

Here are some pictures from Pennsylvania:

Here we are outside our house. We’re glad it has a porch so we can use our rocking chairs.

Brandon’s desk (in the dining room currently).

We had to get rid of our nice couch and buy a used one on Craig’s List that would fit through our tiny front door (ca. 26″ wide). This is that couch, new as of yesterday.

The dog doesn’t always look this calm when the little guy is geared up. But we have been reading the book “Tails are Not for Pulling” quite a bit.

Brandon’s desk at the school.

Another view from Brandon’s office.

It’s been a while since we’ve been able to post on the blog, but we arrived safely in Pennsylvania last Wednesday and are getting settled in fine. We had lots of great help from family getting packed up and getting moved. We’re still unpacking some boxes and getting all our ducks in a row, but so far everything is going well. We’ve been especially impressed with how nice everyone has been thus far. If you’re ever in the area, please come by and see us.
We have a new address, new phone, and new cell phone numbers. If you need those, please let us know.

We’re packing up the moving truck today in 2 locations, and heading up towards Pennsylvania in the morning. It’ll take us at least 2 days to get there.

Here’s a quick update on us: We will be packing our moving truck and starting our 2 1/2 day journey to Pennsylvania one week from today. We shipped many of our belongings via freighter from Scotland, and they are scheduled to arrive today, hopefully in one piece. We hope to be moved and relocated by next Wed., dv.
